“Careers-R-Us (CRU) is a Career Consulting firm that deals exclusively with the Employment and Careers of Convicted Felons”

 

Founded in 1994, by its President and CEO, Dr. Gerard Woodlief, CRU is an interdisciplinary firm that focuses on 3 specific areas:

  1. The PRCC² Program - Pre-Release & Post-Release Counseling and ‘Guaranteed’ Employment-Placement for ‘soon-to-be-released’ Convicted Felons; 

  2. Individual Counseling - Post-Release Counseling, Career and Employment support for ‘released’ Convicted Felons; and,

  3. Corporate Consulting – Development of ‘Convicted Felon Hiring & Management’ Programs, and Assessment of ‘Existing Convicted Felon Hiring & Management’ Programs.

About Our Founder and President

Retied from the Department of Defense in 2016, as a GS-14, Doctor Woodlief holds his Washington State Initial School Administrator Certification, as well as 17 seperate Teaching (Subject) Certifications in Career & Technical Education (CTE) (Washington OSPI #402040J).

With respect to formal Education, Dr. Woodlief holds a Doctorate degree in Education from Arizona State University (1997); a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (1992); a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Metropolitan State College of Denver (1988); and, a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Science from Central Washington University (1980). 

He has successfully taught Undergraduate-level and Graduate-level Education, Business Management, Engineering Management and Graduate Research courses as an Adjunct Professor (in both Public and Private Universities)  since 1997. And, he has concurrently taught in Online & Campus-Based environments since 2000; serving as a Doctoral Committee Chair, Doctoral Committee Member and Doctoral Mentor in Education, Business and Engineering since 2006.

 

With respect to Higher-Education Leadership Appointments, as the Boeing Executive Focal for Central Washington University (1999-2002), and Adjunct Professor at CWU (2000-2002), he worked with CWU’s Electronics Engineering Chair, Dr. Walter Kaminski (deceased), to co-develop the Master of Science in Engineering Technology degree program; which received North Central Association of Colleges and Schools accreditation in 2004, and is now in its 13th year of existence.

 

And as one of his longstanding major achievements, in 2001, as the CWU Boeing Executive Focal, he wrote a Corporate-level Grant Request that led to the establishment of Central Washington University’s Minority Enhancement Program, which 'some 16 years later' still continues to provide annual Scholarships, Summer Internships at The Boeing Company, and 'preferential' consideration for permanent employment to all CWU 'Minority and Female' Engineering and Business students following graduation.
